A customer calls you and says that he installed a wireless
PCIe NIC card on his computer and now he is receiving
error messages from Windows Vista about the device. You
investigate and discover that when he installed the
wireless card, he didnt read the directions and first used
the installation disc that came with the card before
physically installing the card. What do you suspect?
Solution
If the customer installed foreign or incompatible drivers for
the device, they may be conflicting with the drivers
Windows Vista has onboard for the device. Uninstall the
drivers the customer installed and see if that fixes the
problem.
