Obesity
According to Stavridou et al. (2021), a variety of factors contribute to a rise in the
number of cases that bring forth the issue of obesity among children. According to Farrel et
al., 2019 the increase in the prevalence of obesity during the COVID-19 pandemic was one
such cause; this is because, throughout the COVID pandemic, there were a lot of variations
regarding the level of access that children and adolescents had to the outside world. Because
of the limits, they claimed that children and teenagers were compelled to remain indoors,
possibly playing video games. Stavridou et al. (2021) argue that the children didn't get
enough exercise or participate in other activities that boost fitness, which had a significant
negative impact on their health. In addition, Farrel et al., 2019 argue that during this period,
individuals consumed a variety of foods that were not good for them, such as fast food, an
excessive amount of red meat, and potatoes. This was a big issue because this factor reduced
the dietary quality that individuals were expected to have even when they had made an effort
to select excellent food.
People who struggle with obesity are frequently stigmatized to the point where they
are considered social misfits. This element is referred to as stigmatization by Ueland (2019),
which is regarded as different from what society expects any individual to fall under, in this
case, a certain expected weight for adolescents’ children. Ueland (2019) further argues that
people who live in such an environment tend to form mental images skewed by the adverse
effects of being around such areas. Stricklen (2019) supports such an occurrence by
recognizing that when under pressure, many individuals resort to consuming more food to
relieve the tension they are experiencing. Suggesting that the issue surrounding the idea of
obesity is more than a physical aspect since it also affects the mental part of the patient.
Based on Farrell (2021) argues that in most cases, such people will live lives with qualities
