ABS 415 Week 5 Discussion 1
An organization summarizes their objectives and goals in mission and vision statements.
However, these statements are often confused, although each serves a different
purpose. Mission statements focusses on the present, and vision statement focuses on
the future (Daft, R.L., 2014). Vision statements summaries the group’s values and plans,
where the company wants to go in time. It is intended to provide motivation and
concentration among employees, as well as to give consumers a sense of what the
company believes in.
Vision statements may not be truth at the time, but instead states what the company is
working to make true in the future. Mission statements labels the company’s over-all
purpose (Lou, A., 2014). It concentrates on how a company should operate, and serves
as a plan for employees to follow. Mission statements considers products and services
offered, the companys appearance, worth and main concern.
The difference between a mission and vision statement is the time element. While the
mission statement talks about what the company is doing, the vision statement refers to
what the company wants to be in the future. I believe that I am best with vision
statements. I have the ability to better see what I would like to have in the future. It is
harder for me to implement the mission. References
