Consider a federal and republican government.A federal government is a system that equally divides power between the national governmentand smaller local or state governments. Some of the countries that have this kind of governmentinclude: the US, Germany, Brazil, Australia and Austria. This system of government just like anyother has its pros and cons.The advantages of a federal government outweigh the disadvantages. Some of the advantagesare: it provides a basis for diffusion of power where power is shared between the national andstate government and thus does not lie among a group of people which could be corrupting. Itprovides protection against tyranny because once power is distributed, three ranches are used toprovide checks and balances to deter any form of tyranny and runaway power. It also provides aplatform for easier management of conflicts. Each state government provides solutions to itsproblems and makes policies to benefit its people. Therefore, states with irreconcilabledifferences and disagreements in separate areas will create their policies that do not directlyaffect the other state.
