With thevast amounts of languages, and different ways of communication, non verbalcommunication is still considered the universal way of communication. Now, nonverbal is not limited to only hand signals, body language and facial expressions, butalso includes a major system that is in use today to communicate between countriesto break the space barriers but still get the main message across. In this paper I willdiscuss the main method of communication used between countries, and how it is abenefit to use with minimal ineffectivness.Every country needs an effective way to communicate, even when there is no abilityto verbally communicate. This can be due to the fact that different ships can bemiles apart or the language barrier is not effective for communication. To overcomethis issue, the International maritime signal flags were created to have a means ofcommunication, using colorful flags and sequences. According to Maine harbors,"These flags are internatinal signals used by ships at sea to spell out short messages,or more commonly, used individually or in combination they have specialmeanings".
