Many artists have left interesting collections of self-portraits that reveal something about their experiences, self-awareness, emotional and psychological development, as well as their changing outward appearance. Beginning with a museum example, create a biography of an artist based upon his/her self-portraiture.



Must include:
A general discussion of your chosen theme and its relevance to art (at least one page in length)
Complete, detailed descriptions of the works of art that are the subjects of your research (at least one page in length for each work of art)
A discussion of the ways in which the theme is expressed or communicated in the works,based on your research (four to six pages in length)
A concluding summary that briefly explains the conclusions drawn about this theme interrelation to these works of art, based on your research (one page)
A complete bibliography

Throughout history, many artists have created amazing works of self portraits that tell theirstories, emotional experiences, and physical development. Both Drer and Rembrandt are greatexamples of artists who painted portraits of themselves. Rembrandt van Rijn created the largestnumber of self-portraits of any major artist in history (Rothenberg 108). Albrecht Drer is notsimply the artist who created Young Hare, The Large Tuft of Grass or the Study of Hands,symbols of medieval art that have almost degenerated into kitsch. Among the artists of medievalGermany, Albrecht Drer is without doubt one of the most outstanding figures (Charles 8). Allof those artists were incredibly talented and made series of self portraits; they picturedthemselves in numerous paintings and drawings that captured a change of painting style as wellas their outward appearances.The theme I have selected for my art history paper is how self Portraits can be used toexplain the nature from self perspectives. The artists use their skills to portray their feelingsthrough the art work and paintings. These paintings may not be directly showing the feelings ofthe artists and it is sometimes tough to understand what the artists exactly trying to portray. Butwe
