Both of the experiences were different. When working under a female supervisor, there are quite a number of things that I was able to observe. A female supervisor is more approachable and easy to share any problem with. However, this was dependent on the mood that she was in. Sometimes it was hard to reason with her. which made it hard to know when to approach her and when not. I could easily get a day off from her and I did not need to do much explaining. For instance, there is a day I remember having to phone her since one of my siblings was ill and I had to take him to the hospital. she was very empathetic. Working for a male supervisor was different. To start with, it was very hard to approach him, I also found it hard to know what I could share since I feared that it was too much and it was too hard to read his emotions when it came to anything perso ...

As she walked around the desk to hand the guests their keys, the woman bowed toward the manager with her hands together at her chest and said "Arigato," which you may know is "thank you" in Japanese.This could have been incredibly awkward. Instead, the manager simply responded with "thank you, enjoy your stay." Have you ever seen or experienced a cultural misunderstanding? Or a situation where a guest with a disability was misunderstood or struggled with a service provider?
