As such, the disorder emanates from an individual's exposure to a traumatic event in life; therefore, it is crucial to adopt professional diagnosis and administer the most appropriate therapeutic and medical interventions to alleviate the severity of the disorder (Bisson et al., 2015). The disease is believed to have adverse effects on more than 20% of the US military veterans and a primary cause of death among them (Haveman-Gould and Newman, 2018). The client to be discussed in the text is an African American man, call him John, a veteran who served in the military for five years before retiring on medical grounds. Upon examination, John was diagnosed with advanced Post Traumatic Disorder. From the interaction with the client, he demonstrated heightened mood swings and feelings of hopelessness.
