Ideally, there are some practices that threaten the existence of the principles that guide human interactions. According to Santos (2007), some of the human practices against others are unthinkable and are conducted by people one could think they are inexistent. Notably, Santos (2007) asserts that the new form of slavery known as human trafficking has destroyed how human interactions used to be in the past. Generally, trafficking of humans and in particular that of women have gotten to the attention of the government and nongovernmental organizations, academic and the media aiming to understand the air that these victims face (Santos et al., 2010). Primarily, human trafficking has attracted a hot debate regarding the policies or legislation that can be implemented to fight this illegal activity inclusive of the agents that promote human trafficking. However, despite the fact that many scholars support this move, others feel that there is more to be considered as there are other crucial factors that have led to the proliferation of human trafficking.
