Symptoms to support the diagnosis: i. The loss of work as a military personnel is the number one factor that links the condition of the patient to PTSD (American Psychology Association, 2013). The loss of work as a military personnel brought Larry confusion and hopelessness. This is considering that after successful training he did not work in the navy for long. This is the stressor. ii. Another core thing is the intrusion symptoms (American Psychology Association, 2013). These are the upsetting thoughts that trouble him, propelling him to engage in alcoholism. The thoughts also push him towards suicide because his wife has witnessed him hold a loaded gun and threaten to end his life.
