1 Running head: THE FIVE PRACTICES The Five Practices Institutional Affiliation Date THE FIVE PRACTICES 2 The people who utilize the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership of; modelling the way, inspiring a shared vision, challenging the process, enabling others to act and encouraging the heart are reported to be better leaders because of three reasons. The first reason as to why they are considered better leaders than the others is because of their behavior (Kouzes & Posner, 2011). In this case, leadership is not attributed to the personality of a person but the behavior they portray. Behavior is defined as the observable set of skills as well as abilities which the leaders portray while in their positions. Despite differences in their age, gender, and others as well as other variables, the leaders who use the Five Practices depict similar patterns of behavior. Secondly, according to Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI), the Five Practices, as well as other assessment tools, are positively linked to the efficiency of leaders and the level of commitment, engagement and gratification of those that follow. Leadership Practices Inventory is one of the often utilized assessment instruments of leadership in the world.
