Such instances are legally defined based on loss of mental capacity after an unexpected event, and the ACP allows the patient to acknowledge the prospect of death and also negotiate their preferences about their treatment preferences with the family and doctor. This includes the clinical activities or actions that will follow in case they lose capacity (Lund, Richardson & May 2015). The decision making for advanced care plans for the end of life care has raised concerns in the international community due to the underlying ethical issues that are presented. Action for Janet and her Parents In my view, Janet’s parents need to seek legal counsel immediately given that the law prevents Janet from the withdrawal of treatment because she is pregnant.
