1 Running head: LESSON PLAN Comprehensive lesson plan on Physical Education Name Institution 2 LESSON PLAN Section 1: Background Information The lesson plan entails physical education for students who are in 3rd grade. The children in 3rd grade are aged between 8 and nine years, depending on the period of birth. The physical exercise at this stage helps the student to grow better in terms of body strengths and brain development. At this tender age, the children stats indicating their interests and can easily be developed. It involves cognitive development as well as improvement in the strength of the muscles. Research suggests that physical exercise promotes the brain development of a child (Staiano & Calvert, 2011). The children at this age require physical development of their muscles and talent realization. The children in this age have developed muscles that can be used to do physical exercise and are no longer delicate. The strengthening of the muscles will also be significant in the classroom situation to aide in activities such as the development of handwriting. It will also aide the children in doing some of the basic things for themselves, such as tying the shoelaces and walking to the school compound. It makes the child an asset in the school who can depend on himself.
