Social loafing has negative effect to the team and mostly it lowers overall productivity, taint workplace culture and damage work relationships (Deka & Kashyap, 2014). Generally, the solution is to increase accountability and to achieve this several strategies can be applied. Small teams First, the team can be kept small and if need, the large teams can be split to smaller sub teams. There is increased potential of social loafing when the number of team members goes beyond five members (Jones, 2013).
