The study involved self-assessments of city managers on their self-perception as leaders in their organization, and the assessments made of them by their subordinates. The collected data was then analyzed and group in a manner that categorized the managers into three groups; overestimators, accurate estimators, and underestimators (Grasse, Heidbreder, & Ihrke, 2014). The model compared the accuracy of their self-assessments. The authors then drew their conclusions on the findings and made recommendations on how to improve the leadership of city managers.
