Running head: CSR 1 Corporate Social Responsibility Name Institutional Affiliation CSR 2 Introduction The behavior of a firm to engage in social activities, to offer sponsorship to particular events with an aim of getting good press, and to get involved in overall community with an aim of creating overall awareness about the company is referred to as Corporate social responsibility. It is defined as an aspect of management where a company manages its social, economic and environmental effects of its operations in a responsible way and as required by regulating laws. In today's world, CSR is very important and is an element of an organization that encourages pursuing policies and decisions that are in line with the objectives and values of society (Verghese, 2013). It is critical for a company to have a functional CSR program as it provides a forum for the company to perform its social duties to the society and at the same time getting involved in social and environmental activities protects the company from any future risks (Weyzig, 2007). A business with a good CSR ensures it contributes positively to its social, economic, technological, legal and environmental factors. How the company perceives a company will contribute largely to its success.
