The sound that is produced is due to a metal cap that is attached to the toe and heel of the shoe. In the history and development of hoofing style, there have been many contributors who have helped the style evolve to what we know it today. Some of the major contributors include Savion Glover Gregory Hines. One of the major contributions of Gregory is that he helped put the images of black people in the hoofing style.
