Notably, the firm never advertises the products they offer in any form of media and charges it’s over sixty million members to shop at the stores. In addition to lack of advertisement, Costco does not mark up any commodity more than 15% above the cost price. Notably, even with little mark-up ratio, the firm still sells the Kirkland brands at a price that is 20% less than the ruling market price within the country. As such, the firm collects close to $100 billion in yearly sales. As a large scale business entity, Costco enjoys economies of scale, such as efficient supply chain management, efficient supplier relations, good customer service, and strong purchasing power.
