This includes aspects such as class, gender, and race. The framework of intersectionality helps in the conceptualization of people or a person who is faced with some discrimination or even disadvantages. It helps in understanding the prejudices that people face by taking into an account their experiences and their identities too. Intersectionality can be understood by looking at four concepts, that is, factors of identity, oppression, violence, and resistance. Factors of identity refer to all that a person is, simply having self –identity. Oppression refers to doing what those with power want. Some people in the community are normally faced by a lot of violence which oppresses and discriminates against them (Cooper, 2015). Resistance refers to the struggle for survival that people who are facing any violence or are racialized in the community have to go through.
