Running Head: LEGAL MEMORANDUM 1 Legal Memorandum Institutional Affiliation Date LEGAL MEMORANDUM 2 Scenario The restaurant, Purple Hills Wines and Eatery, has managed to be quite successful following its establishment in Arizona. However, some of the recent events which have been experienced may further lead to various legal issues which may lead the restaurant to be liable. Jermaine has been working for the establishment for three months. His tasks, as given to him by his supervisor, focus on cleaning the kitchen and the restaurant’s restroom. Jermaine is an African-American man who is twenty-eight years old. He studied hotel management and catering in one of the local universities. On hearing that the restaurant was looking for employees, he applied for the position of the chef. The supervisor, who is currently supervising Jermaine, was the individual who conducted the interviews. However, the employment position which was given to him was that of a cleaner. Furthermore, the chef, who is a white-American, is less accomplished when compared to Jermaine since he did not have any college documentation when it came to the course which was needful for one to be a chef. Jermaine was the only African-American working in the restaurant. However, Jermaine decided to take the position of the cleaner with the hopes that he would be promoted to be the chef.
