Negotiation is used in the context of healthcare when the physician wants to create a personalized treatment program for a patient. Take, for instance, when dealing with essential health matters like obesity and addiction there is a need to have a face to face conversation which is in the form a negotiation so as to create a working plan. Qn. 2. Over the years, patients have become more aware of different diseases and ways through which ailments can be avoided. Hence, increased awareness means that patient education has been effective. Given that, patient education in the present time is more of a negotiation between the doctor and the patient as opposed to the past when the doctors had the final say. Qn. 3. Some of the pros of negotiation include the fact that it is fast, it creates better working relationships, it has a measure of flexibility, and it has minimal risks.
