Running head: OLDER ADULTS INTERVIEW Older Adults Patient Education Issues Essay and Interview Name: Institutional Affiliation: 1 OLDER ADULTS INTERVIEW 2 Introduction In line with the requirements for the paper, I interviewed my uncle who had been diagnosed with Typhoid. He was taken to a healthcare facility, treated and discharged. He preferred to heal at home, something that Holmes et al. (2013), claims to be common in older adults. I chose him for the interview because he met the various descriptions that had been provided as he was a family member and above all, an older adult. I also figured out that it would be easier for me to interview him as I could rely on his response to be true as I also had some information on what happened. I first called him and scheduled the interview, then visited him the following morning at the family home. Below are the questions I asked and the respective response that I received. Older Adults Patient Education Issues Essay and Interview questions 1. Did the nurse or practitioner instruct you on how you were supposed to take care of yourself while recovering from home? After I was treated for typhoid, the patient education representative gave me several instructions on how I should take care of myself afterwards to avoid the occurrence of a similar incidence and also prevent the reoccurrence of the same symptoms such as stomachaches, loss of appetite and diarrhea.
