Universal Model of Leadership vs. Situational Model of Leadership Name of student Name of institution Date Leadership Models Leadership models refers to the guides that govern specific character which are applicable in specific external surroundings. These models alternatively displays the required leadership character using a graphic. In particular, this presentation focuses on the Universal Model of Leadership and Situation Leadership. Situational Leadership The situational leadership theory was developed by Paul Hersey and Ken Blanchard (Northouse, 2007). Ken Blanchard later did further research on the model and made changes including its name. It is now known as Situational Leadership from the previous Situational Leadership Theory. The theory is based on two continuums namely: 1. A required supervision level-it directs individual behaviors. 2. Arousal (Supporting individual behavior) used in the training of workers to nurture them for better performances from their previous situations Supporting and directing the character that yields the most favorable learning environment.
