Any cultural competent healthcare organization always acknowledges the importance the diverse culture, does a close examination of the impact of cultural differences, strives to expand cultural knowledge to every staff in the organization and also strives to adopt services that are specifically aimed at meeting unique cultural needs (Betancourt et al., 2016). It is a fact that culturally competent organizations have reduced or no cases of ethnic or racial differences in health care. Standards for cultural diversity Cultural standards are guidelines set to guide, inform, and facilitate the recommended and the required cultural competent related practices in an organization. Several standards are generally established by organizations to become culturally competent. The first standard states that health care organizations should ensure that all the staff provides respectful, effective, and understandable care to patients.
