The evolution of technology has affected the way people do business globally, with most people adopting the use of e-commerce sites rather than physical stores [1]. Nevertheless, like any other scholarly section, arguments accumulate and persist, which target the importance of E-Commerce and Global Information Systems in society. In this article, we contribute to the discussion on the comparison of the two concepts through an examination of the E-commerce growth and the need for a Global Information System expansion for any organization. We create an understanding of how the growth of e-commerce and global information systems affect our daily lives and how best to use technology to advance the way we keep information.
