Below are images showing the general marvelous architecture, design as well as artistic layout of both the interior and exterior sides of this monument. Figure 1.The Interior of the Hanging Church Figure 2.The front view of the Hanging Church Discussion The official name of this monument is the Church of the Virgin Mary. Being one of the most valued monuments in the country, the church resides in Old Cairo. The name, “The Hanging Church” came to existence as a result of the logistics of where the monument is actually built. In this case, The Hanging Church tends to somehow on top of the Roman-Built Babylon Fortress Southern gatehouse. With this position, the building’s nave is suspended over a KNOW YOUR CAIRO 3 passageway. At a good angle, the impression of a hanging building can well be spotted.
