Running head: COPERNICAN PRINCIPLE 1 Copernican Principle Name Institution COPERNICAN PRINCIPLE 2 Copernican Principle According to the Copernican principle, the Earth is not the center of the universe, and that as humans on the Earth or the Solar System; we do not possess the privilege of observation. Copernicus first coined the theory in the 16th century and today the concept is accepted universally by scientists, and is the inferred concept in many astronomical theories (Kuhn & Thomas, 1957). By observing the world utilizing the stipulations of the Copernican Principle, this gives a different outlook of human relationship with the world. The widespread misconceptions that had always been considered paramount can be dispelled. Using the Copernican Principle in the generic spatial sense, we get an insight of our place as humans in the galaxy, and our galaxy's place in the universe.
