It consists of two chambers, the Senate and the House of Representatives, both varying in both power and responsibility. It has the mandate of making laws for the country, although it also performs other roles as per the Constitution. The Senate has a hundred members, two from each state, who represent their respective regions (Ginsberg et al., 2019).
