The U.S. government took stringent measures to ensure the protection of its citizens from such heinous acts in the future. Among these measures was the formation of the Homeland Security department, which oversees the mitigation, and control of any threats against the American people (Preventing Terrorism and Enhancing Security, 2019). A strategy employed by the department to reduce the risk of terrorism is the concentration of radicalization and suspicious groups. Prevention begins by identifying the root cause of a problem. These groups are responsible for acts of terror across the globe. They usually train and attack their host countries, as was the case in the 9/11 attack (Leiter et al., 2014).
