This is a conception which remains politically correct up to date. Indeed, looking at the way America has used its military to force its presence in some countries and how it deals with the fiscal issues coupled with its large presence in the world community, it can be said that America is the greatest country (Thorsett & Kiley 1). However, as things continue to change, it seems America is no longer the best country in the world, although many Americans are not ready to admit this fact. America is not the greatest country in the world because of the social, political and economic challenges it continues to face but it’s one of the greatest countries hence, the citizens need to stand and defend the founding principles. Most of the Americans believe that the American systems work and are afraid to admit that many challenges are facing America. According to Thorsett & Kiley, “majority of the public (85%) says either that the United States stands above all other countries in the world (29%) or that it is one of the greatest countries, along with some others (56%).
