Inmates are classified into one of five custodial levels, which are close, medium, minimum I, minimum II, and minimum III. The 'close' category is the most dangerous and is required to live in their cell and work within the security fence with direct armed supervision. The medium level comprises of offenders who it is recommended that they live in their cell but may live in dorms with few exceptions. These are permitted to work within the security fence supervised by armed guards. The minimum I level has offenders who can reside in either cells or dorms that are found in the main prison building but not outside the security fence. Minimum II level comprises of inmates who can live in dorms and cells inside the security fence and can work outside the wall under direct armed supervision.
