How advancements in science have improved the quality of human life
Science is truly the mother of all innovations.” Science has successfully expanded our
understanding of an extensive range of aspects of our lives. It has made the impossible possible
and facilitated us in building the future we all wish to have for us and for our generations.
Science has changed many aspects of human lives, and the impact is felt in all areas of our lives
(Adenle, Chertow, Moors, & Pannell, 2020). Currently, access to information is significantly
easy since one only needs a network connection. Advancement in science has helped improve
the quality of life for humans by improving human health, improving agriculture, improving
technology and improving transport.
Science has facilitated the improvements that have been witnessed in the healthcare
industry. Science has played a key role in reducing medical errors. This is due to the fact that
almost all healthcare facilities have moved to electronic health records. Not long ago, hospitals
used to record patient data manually, which was highly prone to data entry errors. Tracking the
files was also an issue, which affected healthcare delivery. Recently, a doctor only needs to type
the patient's name, and all their records are accessed (Rodgers, 2013). Science has also helped in
improving health monitoring through wearable technologies. These devices gather data that helps
doctors and nurses monitor the health of their patients even when they are at home. Science has
also brought about innovations that have improved reproduction. This has improved the lives of
women who had challenges conceiving. Processes such as IVF has improved fertility. Mature
eggs are usually fertilized in the laboratory by a sperm then transferred to the uterus.
Advancements in science have also helped in improving agriculture. One way has been
through the improvement of livestock breeds. Animal health, growth and productivity has been
improved. Artificial insemination also helps farmers breed more productive animals. Science has

also helped in improving the productivity of plants. New plant breeding methods have been
introduced, which has reduced the time consumed in improving plants. Genetic engineering has
improved the lives of farmers such that it has made plants disease resistant as well as drought
tolerant. Science has also improved agriculture by increasing harvests. High yield plants have
been developed, leading to an increase in their productivity. When these plants are paired with
improved fertilizers and pesticides, this has led to enough food that can sustain the world.
Science has also supported improvements in technology. Technologies have made human
lives easy. For instance, mobile phones have made communication easy all over the world. When
two people are miles away, they are able to communicate through a simple phone call. Mobile
phones are also used for entertainment through watching videos and listening to music.
Education has also improved education (Fontana & Staehle, 2012). Students have millions of
information sources at their disposal on the internet. Covid-19 has forced schools to shift from
physical to online classes, which has been easy due to the existing technologies such as skype
and zoom. Lastly, science has improved transport. The improvements in transport have
introduced cheaper means of transportation. For instance, the fast train has eased the movement
of people from one point to another in a short period of time. These means of transportation are
reliable and efficient. Through the internet, individuals are also able to know when their buses
will arrive at specific stops using real-time bus tracking.
In conclusion, advancements in science have significantly improved the quality of human
life. One of the most impacted areas is healthcare. Science has greatly transformed the healthcare
industry, where people are now able to access better health services. There are also better
treatment techniques and improved medicines. When people have access to better healthcare
services, the quality of their lives also improves (Adenle, Chertow, Moors, & Pannell, 2020). It
