Crime also refers to a criminal offense because it is a harmful act that not only endangers individuals but also the community and the state. A criminal offense is unlawful and is prone to punishment by the law. Some of the major crimes involve murder, theft and rape cases. In most cases, suspects of crime are always guilty and undergo a prosecution in the court of law. Despite the several information on media in the current world about crime, it still remains to be complicated due to the several types of crime (William and Emily, 2017). Crime is majorly divided into four categories. The categories involve personal crimes, inchoate crimes, property crimes and statutory crimes. Personal crimes refer to illegal acts against an individual. Personal crimes usually lead to mental or physical harm to other individuals. They include homicide, assault, false imprisonment, rape, battery and kidnapping. Inchoate crimes refer to incomplete crimes that were initiated but never completed. Such crimes include attempts, conspiracies and solicitations. Statutory crimes refer to the violation of a government statute.
