Abstract
This paper initially explores the key concepts and models of change management and
connects these concepts with the increasing needs of change management in healthcare. The
principles of change such as identification of change, strategic planning to address change, and
monitoring the change implications are thoroughly discussed. The increasing technological
dynamics, legislative diversities, and increased research methods in medical field are generating
serious needs to address the issue with utmost responsibility. Change flows from the higher
professional leaders to the low level production and management staff and leadership takes
special role in promotion of changed constructed visions, prepares the employees for change and
devises strategies to manage the change. The key steps to use any type of change in healthcare
are to develop self-managing teams, increase sustainable communications with highest level of
trust, information flow through dialogues, and inspiring the shared organizational vision in a
most efficient way. The paper further elaborates the importance of individuals in complex
organizational structures. The needs to train individuals to effectively adapt to latest technologies
with effective level of knowledge about latest legislations are also illustrated in the paper.
