Edward Snowden is a Hero
A hero is someone characterized with idealized and admirable courage, noble qualities, or
outstanding achievements. A hero dares to sacrifice his or her most dear to save the rest of the
people. A hero does so to keep other people safe or to ensure that they have a comfortable life. A
hero exposes that which is hidden to the crowd without minding the consequences of his deeds.
Edward Snowden is a hero; he has sacrificed his freedom and stability of life to expose the bad
thing done in the name of the United States citizens.
He is a well-known computer programmer who worked for Dell, National Security
Agencies, and the Central Intelligence Agencies. After being employed by the National Security
Agency (NSA), Snowden realized that there were so many government secrets recorded using
the global mass surveillance system of spies conducted on foreign governments and citizens, and
the United States citizens who had no trace of collaborating with the terrorists ("Why Edward
Snowden Is A Hero - Free Paper Sample," 2021). Of course, it is okay for the intelligence
agencies to conduct surveillance surveys to protect the citizens from the terrorists; however,
there is so much private information covered in the process, including personal emails, messages,
and even pictures that made Snowden angry with the team.
As much as Edward Snowden can be called a criminal for stealing the government's
most valued secret, he did so to protect peoples right to privacy. The truth is that his leaks
played a primary role in generating a global debate about privacy and illegal citizen surveys
focusing on tech and government companies to be less intrusive and a bit transparent ("Why
