The Gothic terror is the outcome of the narrators love for himself and the hatred of his
rivals. The love and hatred shows that both love and hatred are in separate and conveys a
suggestion that this may simply be two forms of intense of human emotion. The narrator loves
himself and when the feelings of self-hatred overcome him, he projects hatred on the imagination
of a copy of himself (Thompson 1). The convention of the love of an old whom the writer loves
from the old man’s evil eyes usually triggers the narrators hatred. The delusion creates a
separation of one’s thought and makes the narrator unaware of the paradox in which it aimed to
claim of his victim’s love denied.
The narrator is suffering from a disease of nervous which had caused an acute of the
senses. The old man who lives with him had clouded pale and blue vulture like an eye which
distressed the narrator. The narrators mind was too distressed and he thought of murdering the
old man besides the love he has for him but he definitely hates the eye of the old man. He is too
much precise in contacting a murder and portrays that he is not sane (Thompson 2). For about
seven nights the Narrator had been attending the house of the old man at night in order to shine
