The market size
The size of a market determines the buyers and the potential customers who are ready to
purchase the products. And even reveals the possibility of small handful of a very large target to

Demographics
Demographic traits the company’s customers in a rate base of whether focused on serving the
customer or the business markets.
A consumer to Income, Occupation, Gender or Ethnic group and Education
Business to Industry, product/services, a year term in a business, revenue, the employee size and
company’s existence either private or public (Boachie, 2010)
Geographic
The location of the customers contributes to a better target in the marketing of goods. The
technology has also boosted quite much number of the company’s location less of an issue. The
clarification of these issues also helps in ensuring the marketing and sales strategies or budgets
of a company are properly matched with the goals in order to capture the market share (Boachie,
2010)
The other characteristics which are more subjective to the traits in defining the company’s
customers are the aspects like buying motivations, the perceived shortcomings of other solutions
in the market and even the trends or purchase made for shifts indenting to take part in the
targeted markets. The performing of a primary research enables a determination on gathering and
documenting the quantitative information needed to prepare a total solid target market section for
