A review of research on content-based foreign/second language education in US K-12 contexts. Language, Culture and Curriculum, 28(1), 25-40. The material focuses on the current research about content.-based learning based on the K-12 second language in the United States. It emphasizes the significance of the one-way and two-way language immersion driven by subject matter and based on the school offering the program. While one-way language immersion targets students who form the majority in terms of language understanding, two-way language immersion targets both majority and minority language learners. The study reviewed the relationship between four critical themes: Classroom language development and use student outcomes, hidden curriculum, and teacher preparation and presentation in class.
