Running head: INTERNATIONAL OPERATIONS International Operations Name: Tutor: College: Course: Date: 1 2 INTERNATIONAL OPERATIONS International Operations The Administrative Tribunal of ILO was formed in 1946 with the aim of solving disputes between the ILO organization and its staff members and other international organizations that recognize its jurisdiction. The tribunal deals with finding a lasting solution to conflicts that occur between the employees and employers of different intergovernmental organizations (Schmitt, 2017). Most of the labour related conflicts from international organizations are appealed to the tribunal for final deliberations or decision as its determination or judgements are binding and final to both parties. This means that for parties to seek legal redress from ILOAT they should have exhausted other legal platforms and then turn to the tribunal as last resort for solving their labour disputes. The tribunal has a mandate for hearing complaints of either substance, form or nonobservance of the terms of appointments of different officials of ILO office. In this case, the tribunal has a jurisdiction to hear and determine the cases presented based on the set procedures in order to ensure that justice is served to the complainant and the organization (Couvreur, 2017).
