Discussion: Smartphone versus a Laptop
I do have a smartphone, and I have owned one for over 6 years. For me, a gadget of this
kind is indispensable as I use it for several purposes. These include accessing emails, the social
media, online shopping, and entertainment. I also access newsworthy texts and videos, and I read
a host of academic-related materials which I download using the smartphone. This particularly
happens when I am away from home, and hence it helps me utilize my spare time in a
constructive manner. Therefore, a smartphone comes in handy as far as completing my daily
routine is concerned. The aspect I value the most about them is that I can access the Internet in
just the same fashion as I do with my laptop.
My smartphone is way more portable than a standard laptop. It also has longer battery life
than the latter. I am impressed by how easily I am able to connect to the Long Term Evolution
(LTE) network, and this enables me to enjoy fast mobile Internet services (Melumad & Pham,
2020). These are just a few advantages I lack while using my laptop. I do, nonetheless, prefer
utilizing my laptop whenever I am in need of typing a significant amount of work. A laptop does
have better performance than a smartphone because its bigger random access memory. Its
storage is also larger than that of the smartphone (Ung, 2019). Depending on what I want to
accomplish, therefore, there are still a number of instances when I prefer using a laptop.
