INTRODUCTION
It is a common phenomenon that says that fast moving and growing firms are dextrous. They
are very much developed and balanced that are quite aligned to today's business demands,
while been conscious of constant change in their environment (Duncan, 1976; Gibson and
Birkinshaw, 2004; Tushman & O’Reilly, 1996). When firms are applying dexterity they need
to be constantly alert to a variety of conflicts within their organizational system. Scholars had
proposed that certain structural adjustments should be put in place to enable the firms to
compete effectively in their environment.(Adler, Goldoftas, & Levine, 1999; McDonough &
Leifer, 1983; Tushman & O’Reilly, 1996).
Scholars such as: Gibson and Birkinshaw (2004) made a proposition that dexterity comes up
as a result of how an organization operates (what is organizational context, 2014). Also, some
scholars proposed that leadership traits help organizations to cope effectively in the business
world (Beckman, 2006;Lubatkin, Simsek, Ling, & Veiga, 2006; Smith & Tushman, 2005).
There are two reasons why organizational dexterity has become a very important topic. First,
various propositions have been made on the topic to digress to a high degree. The other
reason is that organizational dexterity is still a new concept in the framework of organizations.
