Step 1: The Data Analysis Plan
Several factors affect student's performances. An understanding of these factors is
essential in enabling educators to become effective at their job. For this reason, data analysis
is needed to enable educators to identify the factors and make informed decisions. This paper
will analyze two variables, student's class section and student's quiz 3 scores, to ascertain
whether their performances vary based on class section. The variable "section" is a
categorical variable, while the variable "quiz 3" is a continuous variable.
Research question
Does student's quiz three scores differ by class section?
Null hypothesis
Student's quiz three scores do not differ by class section.
