It is named after the famous Lake, Lake Elsinore, and the city's primary source of fresh water. The city consists of a 13.14% water area, and it has a small population compared to other cities in California, with around 60,000 people living in the city. Despite the fact that the city of Lake Elsinore has a small area and population, compared to other cities in California as Los Angeles and San Diego, the city of Lake Elsinore has a noted diversity in geographical and geological features and characteristics (Martinez, 2020). Engel, Gay, & Rogers (1959) discussed that the city of Lake Elsinore has two chains of mountains, one to the southwest and the other to the northeast, and a pretty large valley is located between them. Thus, the city of Lake Elsinore has many mountains as well as valleys. Starting with mountains, the city of Lake Elsinore includes many summits that are popular in California as the San Mateo peak (3,591-foot peak), the Elsinore peak (3,575-foot peak), and the Steele peak (2,520- foot peak).
