In the beginning, Mary is eagerly waiting for the husband Patrick as he comes home from work. She seems to be a very loving housewife and the husband has been described as very hardworking. The husband gets to the homestead, as usual, some minutes after five o’clock and the wife undresses him the coat showing the bond that she hand to her husband.
