Slide 1
Welcome back to the afternoon show with paradigm shifters
This is episode 2 and we will be talking about the recruitment and selection process at RBC
Before moving to the process and practices, lets discuss
Slide 2
Why have we selected RBC?
Recognized as one of the top 100 employers and the largest recruiter in Canada
Slide 3
What stood out for us was RBC’s commitment to no job losses in 2020 due to the pandemic. They quickly moved
thousands of employees to work-from-home arrangements and introduced a special daily compensation program
of $50 per day as support for those employees who were needed to work onsite during early months of the
pandemic. This builds a great amount of trust in the organization.
Slide 4
Let’s have a look at this short video
Video
Nilkanth what are the Recruitment Practices at RBC?
Slide 6
(Nilkanth)
Mahak let me first take you through measures for women
As per the board’s objective - at least 30% of directors should be women (this number has increased from
25% in 2014),
You will be happy to know that women comprised 42% of the Board of Directors of RBC
Also they have unbiased approach towards men and women listing with a staffing target as 50-50 for both
They have 2 dedicated programs for women employees - 1
st
provides networking opportunities with
executives and 2
nd
supports them who want to return to RBC after long leave or work break.
RBC also provides opportunity to connect with senior role models from other industries
(Mahak) that is wonderful to hear!

(Mahak) what are RBC’s practices for new comers to Canada like me?
(Nilkanth)
The best thing is they recognize international credentials not just local ones
RBC MOSAIC employee resource group (ERG) fosters an inclusive culture by enabling the success of visible
minorities, non-visible minorities, and newcomers to Canada across RBC. So, you will fit right in.
They have also partnered with ACCES to deliver job search and financial literacy advice for pre-arrival
immigrants
Slide 8
(Nilkanth) As for Measures for persons with disabilities
Candidates are provided access to dedicated support during the job application process, receive resume
writing and interview coaching also if needed
RBC has also been the title sponsor of the McGill Empower Conference for students with disabilities
(Mahak) I truly feel that an inclusive workplace provides insights to all people managers and employees
on effective recruitment
Slide 9 LGBTQ+ inclusion
(Nilkanth) I agree Mahak,
RBC has also included e-learning to increase awareness of LGBTQ+ community
Even the application has an option to self-identify differently
RBC currently ranks #1 in Canada’s LGBTQ Inclusion Index survey
(Nilkanth) Pantea are you reading on RBC’s Recruitment Process? Can you also tell me about it.
PANTEA
Slide 11
Stage 0 and an absolutely important one is Recruitment Marketing. This stage builds the brand image of RBC which
is crucial for attracting the best talent and effective recruitment.
There is a dedicated team at RBC for ‘Global Recruitment Marketing and Channel Strategy’ to attract top, diverse
talent by raising awareness of RBC in the market as an optimistic, future-thinking employer of choice.
An example is this aggressive campaign, launched in 2017, has been successful in adding quality databases. like 1.
Multi-platform campaign to elevate RBC Tech as a leader in Fintech. 2. Social Media Campaign for Malaysia
