In this system, there is an unequal distribution of resources, wealth, rewards and punishment (Caselli and Coleman 170). The racism in Battle Royal clearly exemplifies this phenomenon since it shows how rights and resources are unfairly distributed along racial lines. For instance, white privilege can be seen through the fact that all the high ranking men in this town are in fact all white, this shows that white people have greater access to rights and resources than people of color. Through the battle royal itself, it is possible to see how theory plays out conflict in an American setting. During the fight there is only one black boy in a ring with nine white boys, at one point all the white boy lunge at the black boy “then it seemed as though all nine of the boys had turned upon me at once. Blows pounded me from all sides while I struck out as best I could.
