Running Head: NATURE 1 Nature Student Name Institution name NATURE 2 Introduction Nature can briefly be described as the earth, all the living and non-living existing phenomena on it as well as the very essence of humanity to dwell upon the earth. Animals, plants, and birds are all integral parts of nature. As such, nature can be seen as a collection of all that is on the surface of the earth without the interference of man. However, the idealism of what nature is can be portrayed in diverse ways according to the subjectivity of different understandings that are outlined by religious philosophies and cultures of man regarding the creation of God. This paper looks at the concepts of nature, as seen from the opinions of different philosophers from early writings. Analysis Jonathan Edwards, a renown philosophical theologian of the 18th century explains his understanding of nature based on human, environmental and God’s perspectives. His contributions are considered important and significant in understanding the Biblical notations of what nature really is and what elements help in shaping nature according to how God intended nature to be. His philosophical works entirely cover two major themes in nature. First is the nature according to God’s sovereignty as well as the beauty of what is God’s holiness.
