1 Running Head: FUNDRAISING PLAN IDEA PUBLIC SCHOOLS OF EL PASO TEXAS Fundraising Plan IDEA Public Schools of El Paso Texas 2020-2025 Dominique Olivares IDEA Public Schools 2 Fundraising Plan IDEA Public Schools of El Paso Texas Executive Summary This fundraising plan is going to focus on improving funding for one of the newest regions to have IDEA schools, El Paso, Texas. This plan is to be in place from 2020 through 2025. IDEA Public Schools (IDEA) is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to reach underserved low-income populations and ensure that students in those areas can attend college. Throughout this plan the terms IDEA and IDEA Public Schools are interchangeable. This plan consists of a fundraising audit in which the financial status and situational analysis of the IDEA Public Schools. The information for the financial audit is for the organization as a whole rather than for the El Paso region. Specific data for the El Paso region was not available. The audit is followed by an analysis of IDEA’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) which was used to identify the key issue facing IDEA Public Schools in the El Paso region. They key issue identified is a lack of local contributions in the El Paso region. As of 2017, only one foundation grant was identified and no other sources of local contributions from the region could be identified.
