Running Head: MANAGEMENT 1 Management Institutional Affiliation Date 22nd March 2019 MANAGEMENT 2 The Boeing organizational culture faces the ethical issue of unionization. Unions have been seen as the organization of employees that give them the right and the power to negotiate better terms and working conditions from their employers. Most states have passed the law that allows employees to unionize, but there are still states such as South Carolina that are strongly against unionization. Boeing suffers from the moral dilemma included in their move to expand and open a new facility in South Carolina State that does not allow for workers to unionize. The dilemma came in when the National Labor Relations Board accused Boeing to go against the laws by setting up the new factory. They stated that Boeing was doing this out of spite and as retaliation to union workers and the past strikes they had held. This new factory location would not allow the workers to form a union; hence Boeing would have no strikes at South Carolina. In evaluating Boeing’s decisions, we can establish moral stances on several occasions. The first is that even though the organization opens the new factory in South Carolina, this does not affect the workers or the unions in the other branches operating in states that support unionization.
