Running head: GLOBAL HEALTH RESEARCH Global Health Research Name of Student Name of Institution 1 GLOBAL HEALTH RESEARCH 2 John Doe Cancer in Congo From: Minister of Health, Congo To: Minister of Finance, Congo Introduction: I am writing to you about our issues with Cancer in our country and how best we would manage it and also ensure treatment gets to all patients. The approach I am suggesting is not only cost effective but will ensure that Congo increases their life expectancy. To start, numerous researches conducted in DRC shows that cancer is the leading killer surpassing Malaria, AIDS, and tuberculosis combined (Basch, Deal, Dueck, et al. 2017). To make matter worse, there are no cancers services available in the country such as palliative, mammography, colposcopy, and chemotherapy care services. The rest of the world, however, seems to be taking some initiatives to control the menace that is cancer. This has led to the death toll increasing to 44% in public hospitals. It is a major concern that should be looked into by the ministry and the country at large lest we lost many of our citizens from the disease. The disease does not know age or gender as it affects every person in the country directly and indirectly either emotionally, physically, and mentally.
